The name Busy Bee Illustration may come from Susan’s love of bees as seen in some of her pictures and illustrations, but we suspect it may be something to do with her work schedule.
At the time of the Sugar Cube exhibition Susan had not one but two public art projects on the go – a hand painted Shaun the Sheep in London’s Covent Garden and two hand painted barons in Salisbury commemorating the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta. She also had an exhibition running during this time at Paper in Bristol. A busy bee indeed.
Susan’s Sugar Cube exhibition was a fascinating mixture of pencil, pen and acrylics illustrations and one or two large paintings taking the visitor on a journey through different styles and subjects – architectural, dream like or from the animal kingdom.
