Liz’s collection of sculpture and paintings from her series called ‘Inspire Your Heart’ opened a new chapter in the short history of the Sugar Cube. The theme for her exhibition was relationships, energy, the deep spirituality found in nature and family. For two months if one walked through the Sugar Cube or stopped to admire her works, the strange other worldly elements of Liz’s work transported one away into a world where nature is treasured not harmed.
Like so many other artists in this part of the world, the rural landscape is not just home to Liz but it’s also provides her with inspiration to paint and sculpt. In their case, home is on the border between Devon, Dorset and Somerset although Liz was actually born in South America. Her series of hare oil paintings and sculptures, paintings of trees and other animal subjects can easily be traced back to her adventures with her little West Highland Terrier, Missie. Part companion and part assistant, the two of them are inseparable.
Let’s leave Liz to describe her work herself – ‘I create a collection of deep magical soulful works of art that uplifts the spirit. Inspired to connect the viewer to warm the heart, offering hope and bringing nature, beauty and the soul to life during one’s quest for knowledge, healing and illumination.’
